Deception in Genesis. Michael James Williams, University of Pennsylvania. Abstract. The present study analyzes the phenomenon of deception in Genesis. While this phenomenon has been dealt with in a piecemeal fashion in the past by studies devoted to individual or small clusters of incidents, no comprehensive treatment has hitherto been performed.
